Game Recap

Colerain jumped out to an early lead on Middletown and captured a 12-2 victory on Monday. With five runs in the first three innings, Colerain left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An error and a sacrifice fly by Sara Morehead in the first inning and a solo home run by Hayley Roberts, an RBI single by Baylee Hobeika, and an RBI single by Angel Ehrenschwender during the second inning fueled Colerain ‘s offense early.

Roberts had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.

Colerain relied on Tara Sprandel to eat up innings en route to the win. Sprandel pitched six innings and allowed no earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out four.

Colerain ‘s Hobeika, Ehrenschwender, Caitlin Seiler and Roberts combined for 13 hits and seven RBIs.

The Cardinals play tomorrow at 5:00 at Northwest High School. This game will be in honor of Mr. Bertram and all proceeds will be donated to the Bertram family to help support them in Joe’s continued fight against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Come out and support your Cardinals for a great cause!
