The Girls Bowling team qualified for the District tournament for the 2nd year in a row after finishing 5th out of 20 teams at the Sectional tournament on Feb. 22, 2017 at Colerain Bowl.
To compete in the post-season, every team, regardless of sport, must have strong Senior leadership, and that is EXACTLY what our Cardinals had yesterday.
Colerain was led by Senior Erin Tragesser who bowled 50 pins ABOVE her 3-game average to roll an impressive 597(!) and also finished 4th in a field of 115 bowlers! Last year in Sectionals as a Junior she rolled a 559.
Not to be outdone, Sydney Woods (’18) was equally, if not more, impressive with her 3-game set of 526 which is almost 60 (!) pins above her 3-game average. Her second game of 191 was one pin off her season high of 192 set a month ago in a win over Lakota East.
Congrats to bowlers Megan Torbeck (’17), Bailey Sutterfield (’17), Brooklyn Johnson (’18), and Erika Stohr (’19), plus Sub 1 and Sub 2 for their part in the successful first step in the 2017 post-season.
Next up for Coaches Potzner and Evans is the District tournament next Thursday, March 2 at Beaver-VU Lanes in Beavercreek, Ohio where the competition takes a decided step up in difficulty.
Best of luck next week and congratulations on the accomplishments so far!
