Multiple Teams · Colerain Names New Volleyball Coach

Colerain High School is excited to welcome former Capital University standout Shannon (Quinn) Thompson as the next Girls Volleyball Head Coach, pending board approval on March 12, 2018.  Thompson recently served as the JV Head Coach last Fall at Northwest High School, and was previously a JV and Freshman Coach at Springfield High School in Toledo, Ohio.

A 2013 high honors graduate from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, Thompson was a 4-year defensive specialist and captain for the Crusaders, leading the country in digs per set (6.73) her Senior year, also earning 2nd Team all-conference honors. Thompson played for the late Hall of Fame coach Pam Briggs while at Capital. A 2009 graduate of Miamisburg High School, Thompson was also a two-time 1st team all-league selection in the GWOC.

I am very passionate about coaching the game of volleyball……as well as teaching science at the high school level. Outside of volleyball, Thompson is currently a science teacher at Colerain High School.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Integrated Science Education from Capital University, and a Master’s of Science in Physics from Ohio University.  She is married to Doug Thompson, who is a 2009 Colerain graduate.
