Cardinals News · Class of 2018 Hall of Fame Announced!


This year’s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place at Halftime during the LaSalle vs. Colerain varsity football game on Friday, August 24, 2018. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm.

 

Greg Wilcher

Class of 1979

Cross Country, Track & Field

During Greg’s senior season, he was First Team All-League, All-City, All-District, and All-State in Cross Country, finishing in 6th place in the State Meet.  Greg was also a starting member of Colerain’s first “team” State Championship, the same team who also was crowned league champions, sectional champions, and district champions.

 

Nick Westermeyer II

Class of 1988

Gymnastics

During Nick’s senior year, he was a State Champion in the Horizontal Bars and Parallel Bars in Men’s Gymnastics. He also finished 4th in the All-Around at the State Meet.  He went on to compete at Michigan State University, where he qualified for the NCAA Division 1 Championships, and finished 27th in the High Bar, and 39th on the Vault

 

Catie Grebe Schmid

Class of 2000

Cross Country, Track & Field

Catie was a 4-time First Team All-League & All-District performer, 2-time All-Regional, and was Second Team All-State in 1997 in Cross Country.  As a Freshman, she was crowned League Champion. She was a starting member of three State Championship teams in Girls Cross Country (1997, 1998, 1999).  She was also a member of the State Runner-Up 1996 team. During all four years in high school, her cross country team was ranked on a national level. In Track & Field, Catie was Second Team All-State in the 4x800m Relay, and was a 3-time Conference Champion (1600m Run, 4x800m Relay).  Catie was also a member of the 4x1600m Relay that earned Nike All-American Indoor Track honors in 2000. She went on to compete at the University of Cincinnati in Cross Country and Track.

 

Lisa Klotz

Class of 2005

Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field

During Lisa’s Senior year, she was a League, District, and Regional Champion in Shot Put who finished in 3rd place at the State Meet. During her junior year she finished in 4th place at the State Meet in Shot Put.  She also was a League and District Champion in Discus, finishing in 9th place overall at the State Meet. In addition to her shot and discus career, she lettered three years in girls basketball, and also played volleyball while at Colerain High School.  Lisa went on to throw for the University of Cincinnati, and was an assistant coach for the girls basketball program, and track & field at Colerain High School.

 

Coach Steve Schweitzer

1978 – 2014 (Years Active)

Coach Schweitzer served as the head Girls Basketball coach from 1981 – 1985 compiling a record of 70 – 38.  The 1981 team finished the season as a District Runner-Up. Steve was an assistant Football coach from 1978 – 2014, working under head coaches Tom Kocica, Don Colussi, Kerry Coombs and Tom Bolden.  He worked primarily with quarterbacks and running backs. He was also an assistant Track coach from 1979 – 1989.

 

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Steve was a Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) sponsor and worked with the football mother’s club to establish the Colerain Breakfast Club in the early 1980s.  The Breakfast Club held weekly meetings which provided mentoring opportunities for students at local churches. Steve was an active member of the Colerain Boosters from 1978 – 1999.
