The Lady Cards (1-1) opened The Cage last night against intra-district rival Northwest.

Starting two Freshman and a Sophomore, Colerain improved significantly over last year’s 39 point loss to these same Knights.

Sophomore G Jessica Toepfert led Colerain with 12 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists off the bench. Her 3 made three point FG’s lead all players. The Achilles heel for the Lady Cards came at the charity stripe as they were outscored by 13 on a 1-11 shooting effort.

On the plus side, it was a veritable block party as Colerain blocked 8 Northwest shots, led by Freshman F Abaigeal McNally with 3.

This team is young and will experience a lot of growing pains along the way. But is there anything more exciting than watching a team grow and improve over the course of the season? We encourage you to come out and support our Lady Cards this season as they compete in the uber competitive GMC.
